Fans of Good Will Hunting will know it as the “Nobel prize for math, except they only give it out every four years.” 

Mathematician Professor Akshay Venkatesh has been awarded the Fields Medal, the second Australian ever to receive the honour.

Well done Professor, although we’d be lying if we said we understand how you’ve related dynamics to number theory.
